ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary claimed that PTI and its allies have secured more than 180 seats in the national assembly after succesfal coalition talks with Balochistan Awami Party-Mengal (BNP-M).
This development sets PTI well ahead of the 172 seats needed to establish a simple majority in the National Assembly needed for the party to form a federal government.
BNP-M and PTI signed a deal which PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi claimed would “strengthen viewpoints at the centre.” Akhtar Mengal, BNP-M leader claimed that they had reached a “historic agreement”, noting that PTI had agreed to find solutions to the ‘missing people’ issue and the enforcement of the National Action Plan.
In the wake of the general elections on July 25, PTI has been scrambling to secure the necessary number of seats needed to form a federal and provincial assemblies.
