LAHORE: Pakistan has condemned the latest ballistic missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh by the Houthi rebels of Yemen.
The rebels reportedly fired a long-range ballistic missile on Tuesday, which was intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi forces over Riyadh.
The rebels claimed that the target of the missile was the king’s official residence in the capital.
“Pakistan stands firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” said a statement issued by the foreign office of Pakistan.
It said Pakistan reiterates its full support and solidarity with the government and brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.
The statement stressed on the “political solution” of the Yemen crises to ensure peace and stability in the region.
Saudi Arabia and the United States have accused Iran of supplying the rebels with the missiles.
However, Iran has rejected the allegations saying there is no Iran’s weapon in Yemen.
