LAHORE: Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday met the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s residence in Jati Umra and briefed him on the Balochistan issue.
According to details, PM Abbasi arrived at the former PM’s residence on a helicopter to discuss the political matters, as well as the Balochistan Assembly situation.
The two PML-N leaders discussed the political scenario prevalent. The Senate elections due in March and the general elections due in July 2018 also came under discussion.
Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq were also present on the occasion.
PML-N lost its majority in the Balochistan assembly where a member of Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo became CM. The ruling party in the centre was expected to win a major chunk of seats in Senate from Balochistan in the coming elections but it is near impossible now for them to win even a single seat as almost all the dissenting members of the party are set to join PML-Q or Pakistan People’s Party according to reports.
