ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Nehal Hashmi submitted an unconditional apology in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Wednesday.
During the hearing, the SC two-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and comprising of Justice Dost Muhamamd Khan objected to Hashmi’s apology, which was submitted by lawyer Kamran Murtaza, saying that it is completely opposite to what the former senator had said in his speech last year in May.
“You were going to make our life miserable on earth as per your speech. Whatever you say to us is fine but you mentioned our children as well,” said Justice Khosa. Hashmi said in his apology that he respects the court and is ready to sacrifice his life for it.

On May 31 last year, PML-N Senator Nehal Hashmi threatened “those investigating” Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons in the Panama Papers case, warning that they will be taken to task for the grilling.
In a video in which he appears to be addressing supporters, Hashmi warned: “Those who are scrutinising them, we will not spare you.”
“You are making the life of the prime minister difficult. The Pakistani nation will make it difficult for you to live,” he added, without taking any names.
Following the former senator’s comments, the SC took a suo moto notice, while he was also sacked from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) membership and was made to resign from senate.
